Thanks very much for confirming that for me. Oops I copied the wrong command
line, one of the many I tried. It made no difference using -tone 0.
However it appears to be getting a signal now... because, in order to check that
the card/cable/dish etc were OK I installed the card in a Windows 7 PC,
installed the TeVii windows drivers and used ProgDVB to tune and watch a few
Freeview channels, and that worked fine. Now I have put the card back into the
Mythbuntu box and dvbtune shows that there is a signal now! What
is up with that? I'm guessing that the Windows drivers enabled something on the
card that the linux drivers don't. I will ask on the linux-media list about
that. In any case it looks like I can continue with my mythtv setup now.
