Regrettably, not all cards using the same chipset actually work the
same way. And there are regressions sometimes - I have a Hauppauge
HVR-900 USB tuner which worked for a while, but does not work with the
latest kernels, as it seems something from the external drivers never
made its way into the kernel. Only the newer HVR-900s are affected,
the old models work. So you may well be up against the same sort of
thing, where the manufacturer has substituted a new device for
something on the card that is becoming expensive or hard to get, but
kept the old model number so it is difficult to tell the difference.
