The frontend is run as two parts: mythfrontend and mythfrontend.real.
The "mythfrontend" one is a wrapper that will restart
"mythfrontend.real" if it crashes.  So if you want to stop the
frontend from restarting all the time, just kill the "mythfrontend"
task from a bash prompt.  Then you can start looking at the logs to
see what the problem might be.

If you can not get to a terminal from your desktop to kill things,
remember that you can always use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to one in full
screen mode, then Ctrl-Alt-F7 to get back to the desktop.  I always
also set up ssh on my Linux boxes so I can access them from other PCs,
such as my laptop, phone or tablet.  And I do the fix that makes
Ctrl-Esc work again as it did in earlier versions of Mythbuntu, so
that I can always get to the desktop menu and start other programs
even with full screen programs like mythfrontend running.
