[mythtvnz] Need recommendation for USB audio device

I'm in the process of moving what was my backend server into a home
theatre room and using it as both a frontend and backend.  As part of
this move I need a USB sound card, all my slots are used by TV cards and
my motherboard doesn't have digital sound output.

The plan is to connect the USB sound card to my home theatre receiver
using either coax or optical digital connection and use pass through
mode for DTS and AC3 playback.

Does anybody have any recommendations for what works well on Linux?

PS.  The system is a MythBuntu 7.10 system.
