Hi guys,

I put together a combined serial port IR receiver / transmitter over the
weekend. Tested with a benchtop power supply and everything seems to be
working properly. The receiver works fine with LIRC. Having trouble now
setting up lirc to transmit. I'm pretty sure when I built the modules
that I had the transmitter enabled. When I try an irsend I get the
following error:

sam at mythbox:~$ sudo irsend -d /dev/lircd SEND_ONCE AWA_TV AWA_Power
irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE AWA_TV AWA_Power
irsend: hardware does not support sending

I haven't changed anything in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf . Is there some
flags that need to be set? Do I need a second instance of lircd running?
The transmitter will need a 38kHz carrier produced by the driver - is
there a setting in hardware.conf for this?

I have another mythbox I maintain for a friend. He's just bought a Sony
Bravia rear projection TV and we've been trying to get DVI - HDMI
working. Xorg doesn't seem to be picking up an EDID from the TV. I just
read recently that HDMI 1.0 through to 1.2 doesn't support EDIDs. I
can't even get an out of sync image up on the screen. Could someone who
has DVI - HDMI with custom modelines for 720p and 1080i please send me a
copy of their xorg.conf?

Cheers,

Sam.
