Road Closure
Approach Road is to have night-time closures while they build the new
footbridge through to May. Notice attached.

Consultations


Heathrow
The next round of Heathrow expansion consultations has opened. A core

Heathrow are holding public consultations in support. A  background document

This consultation still does not cover actual routes and flight paths. That
is the more interesting one from our viewpoint and we will have to wait.

GP services
Bucks CC is running a consultation on the provision of out of hours GP
services if you have views on this:

Home
BCC have also completed their fig-leaf consultation on our household waste
sites. As feared, the intention is to close our Burnham site, after a period
of closing on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Significantly, unspecified charges
are to be introduced for items not regarded as normal household waste.

Unitary Authority
Although the Government Cabinet has approved the single Unitary Authority
for Bucks it still requires formal processes. In this context SBDC Cabinet
has decided not to give its consent to the Secretary of State's proposals
under section 15 of the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act 2016.    

Consequences are not yet clear.

Planning applications of interest:
PL/18/4641/FA
The application for a pub on Mill Lane has been re-presented. Improvements
from the earlier withdrawn application include better public access. We have
asked for this access to be the subject of a condition

PL/18/4618/SA
Maidenhead Rowing Club has applied to make internal alterations to support a
gym. This follows an earlier rejected application to extend the building to
provide a gym. This looks like a good solution.

PL/18/4428/FA
Taplow House Hotel is looking to install a Spa facility in the basement.
Although this seems straightforward it will mean that your committee will
lose its meeting venue!

 

PL/19/0027/FA
Application for 8 houses on the Old Boathouse site. We are not opposed to
the houses themselves but are making representations that there is no
provision for access to the river bank other than on foot in support of the
moorings business. We think the application should be held until SBDC make
it clear how boating business on this section of the Thames is to be
maintained.
