I understand why RMS feels he is morally obliged not to subscribe to
this list directly.
The question is, are we morally obliged to develop in order for him to
do so?

gratis/"Free of Charge" is something like "kore utu" ("utu" is a
deeply meaningful word for cost, price, penalty)
libre/"Free from Restraints" might be more like "w tea" I think?
That could be a good idea. Please verify it with some good Maori
speakers.
