The only way to delete multiple recording rules would be to use the
API in a script, or to do direct SQL commands on the database. There
is no GUI option for doing it.
Deleting rules from mythfrontend is easy - just use D from the
keyboard. D works on anything that is deleteable. With a remote
control, if you have a delete button assigned that you use to delete
recordings, that should also work on recording rules. Otherwise, on a
recording rule, hit OK or Enter to bring up the recording rule screen,
and on the top line there, change it to "Do not record" and save the
rule.
But the fundamental problem that you have is what is creating these
bad rules in the first place. I do not know of any mechanism in
MythTV that automatically creates or changes recording rules. Do you
have your MythWeb or port 6544 open to the Internet? If so, then a
robot scanner or someone malicious might be causing this. From your
description, it feels like something is creating override "Do not
record" rules for existing rules, as ordinary recording rules that get
set to "Do not record" results in them being deleted, not hanging
around in the database.
