Have a look at the backend logs to see if it can access the mysql.txt file

cat /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log | grep branches -A15

copy and paste the printout the last 15 lines of the start-up logs of
mythbackend, specifically the user directory and sql file and any errors
that may of occurred...
