[mythtvnz] Myth crashing on channel change and other questions

I also experience crashes when changing the channel quickly as well as
while just simply watching, I just assumed that I had to add a channel
change delay someone but it hadn't been high on my priority list to get
fixed as my wife is most unimpressed with the quality, I'm guessing the
quality issues is tearing but I haven't gone and looked at any samples of
what tearing is yet. Changing the tv frequency and random guessing of
which mythtv deinterlacers and settings has helped a little, I'm hoping
that once I find the right modelines it'll be a lot better (anyone got
decent modelines for a DSE 42" 1366x768 lcd which is being picked up as a
KTV 32" lcd? Best de-interlacer and video settings if not using a nvidia
card? )

I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-3000 with JY's repository (but I don't have
nvidia video card at the moment) with a Asus p5E-v and Core2 E6600 that
hasn't seemed to max out when I've been watching tv. What would you like
me to do to provide information on the crashing?

Also, since JY's repository doesn't appear to have multi front-end support
for combined DVB-S/DVB-T adapters I'm having to create a links to the
DVB-T frontend every time I reboot which mythtv then doesn't seem to like
so I have to rescan the channels. Does anyone have a simple solution to
get around this (Ubuntu 9.04 kernel so using the built in HVR-3000 driver)

After a frustrating year of trying out Linux/Myth (largely due to the NZ
HD support and making a few bad hardware purchase choices with respect to
Linux/MythTv support) I'm really hoping that I can find ways to sort all
the remaining issues out soon :-(
