[mythtvnz] SD on HD 1080p screens

I have heard that SD does not play back so well on HD screens, e.g. 1920 x 1080.  How are people finding SD on the HD screens with MythTV, given there are many many more pixels to fill with something?  Is it as good as SD on SD screens, is there delay is SD a step backwards on HD?
