I should have mentioned earlier that the optiplex does not have an AGP
slot. Sorry
I'll get a Hauppauge 500 then if they are not to expensive.

This has info about a X driver for the i810 the intergrated graphics
card oin the optiplex. So I might just use that for now
I have seen some VGA-S-video converters available on the internet. I
have also seen a simple circuit for an adaptor from S-video to
composite, which our (1950-70 era) TV supports. Does this sound OK?
Its a 7200RPM HDD
Thanks for the "capacitor Plauge" tip. I got given 6 of these
Optiplex GX50's. 5 work one does not. However one of them that does
work suprised me because it has what looks loke a chared hole where a
surface mount component is on the other ones. I've installed windblows
on that one just to see how it runs. I assume it will die soon?
