Glad to hear you got it working - more than one way to skin a cat :-)
I wouldn't be too hasty about your conclusions however. I'd gamble most
people who have been around linux for a number of years have said
exactly the same about Nvidia...
Personally I'm also waiting for someone to support H.264 - as Steve
mentioned. Nvidia are being very tardy on this front, VIA are all talk
and not much code, AMD/ATI are a still a chance with their new openness
and of course so is Intel.
