Nm, I got it. Found it was printed by dvbscan. I'm getting all the
channels now.
MythTV scan worked this time (I tried United Kingdom instead of
Australia, that made a big difference). It also picked up stuff that
dvbscan missed: MaoriTV, Parliment TV, tvCentral, Radio NZ National,
Radio NZ Concert, Freeview HD, Reserved {3,4,5,6}KS.
There is still some serious sketchiness though. Stuff crashing. Loads
of error messages. Blockiness, combing, stuttering, audio sync
problems. Basically all the channels are almost completely
unwatchable. And it takes about 6 seconds just to tune anything in, so
there looks like no hope of flipping around quickly.
I'm using mplayer SVN-r26348-4.2.3, which I pulled from the trunk a few
hours ago.
Here's a few notes.
TV
ONE:666000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_16:HIERARCHY_NONE:270+288:320:1200
--> H264 (pid=270) AAC (pid=320) FPS 50
--> 1280x720
--> Audio sync goes off almost immediately. Then the audio cuts in and
out. But not always, sometimes the audio runs ok for a while.
--> The video is very clean, but occasionally stutters.
--> I get "too many video packets in buffer". My system is probably
pretty heavily taxed on this stream.
--> I also get FAAD: error: Gain control not yet implemented, trying to
resync!
--> I also get
Error while decoding frame!
[h264 @ 0x8758db0]B picture before any references, skipping??,?% 1 0
[h264 @ 0x8758db0]decode_slice_header error

--> H264 (pid=271) AAC (pid=321) FPS 50.
--> 1280x720
--> Wow this one is coming through clean, very nice, not blocky, no
comb effects, audio sync is fine. Stupid program about ghosts, but
hey, it's crystal clear. Looks like my AthlonXP 3200+ is plenty fast
enough to decode and display this one.

I'm happy to report on anything that needs reporting on.
