[chbot] On the scrounge: 2 x 47000uF 63V or similar

I'm intrigued by the leaf motor nuffield project.
What stage is it at?

I have a leaf motor I got as far as making up a controller for and had it spinning on the bench, with an intention of at some point sticking it in a series 2 rover I have that's had a leg out of bed.

But I also have a little yanmar 4wd tractor I use for mowing that's got worn out crank shaft bearings and have been justifying putting off rebuilding the engine by thinking if it explodes before I get to it, then it'll get the leaf motor in.

But to do the job I estimate it'd need ~20kWh of battery pack and the leaf motor inverter won't get out of bed for anything less than 180VDC
So interested to know what batteries you're intending to / have used.

  Hi Team,

I'm repairing a single phase 175A mig welder (so I can finally build the mounting bracket for the Leaf motor in the Nuffield tractor).

There's a pair of large 63V 47000uF caps hanging (literally) off the rectifier output that have definitely seen better days* (hopefully I'll remember to bring them in to the next meeting).

Does anyone have anything similar I could scrounge?

  Cheers,

  Andy
