[chbot] [OT] Recommendation for steel fabrication

Looks something like powder-coated 3mm ali.

Putting a 50mm (?) radius on such a long piece (2000mm) of material is
possibly the difficult part. Raw sheet should be around 1100mm wide.

I would start the process by getting the price of a 2400 x 1200 x 3mm
sheet of ali, then get a price for a full powder-coat.

Add 50% on top of both of those prices to give a ball-park one-off
fabrication cost, and see how that matches up against $3800 + shipping.

The manufacturer will certainly have savings associated with streamline
process, amortisation of cost of fixtures and associated with know-how,
and presumably a sweet-deal with suppliers and finishers.

Most interested to see what the final numbers are.

The manufacturers $3800 price tag for such a unit does not seem
ridiculous to me.
