[chbot] Linux KDE (or maybe Gnome) gurus

Got a really weird problem on one of my PCs after shutting down over the
weekend. Come Monday, the Saleae logic analyser s/w runs but does not
display!!

No idea what GUI library it uses but it appears to be all versions after
1.2.5 (I've tried 1.2.13, 1.2.15, 1.2.28 & 1.2.29) that all exhibit the
same issue.

Obviously I have a stray config file with a dodgy setting but I've no idea
where to look - does anyone have any ideas?
