I had already rebooted and checked OK.

robert at FishMyth:~$ sudo a2dismod php7.1
[sudo] password for robert:
ERROR: Module php7.1 does not exist!

robert at FishMyth:~$ sudo a2dismod php7.0
Module php7.0 already disabled

There is still a minor problem which I am sure will be sorted soon.....
