How about "my mythbox has been running for ~12 years, and isn't beholden
to a specific appliance supplier staying in business"

That said, its just TV and I probably wouldn't go to the effort of
replacing it if it died.  Television just isn't that interesting.

Even my teenager has discovered youtube on his tablet and that's much more
involving.

On-demand playback and streaming will eventually replace all broadcast TV.

Another part of the reluctance comes from WAF / FAF / SOAF, and maybe
older geek users with brain ossification who just don't want to change.
