I dunno why it is labelled Italian, I get that audio stream in my
recordings too!

Your analysis sounds right, but to confirm:

1. does it repeat on the same spot each time you play the file?

2. what playback profile are you using? (I seem to recall you have
vdpau capable hardware, but I am not going through the archive to
check)

3. What do the logs say during the glitch (hint, ssh in from a laptop
hile watching. on the laptop run tail -f
/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log. The log file will scroll past as
playback occurs, see if you can isolate any error messages that
coincide with the glitches.)

4. mythfrontend has various logging options. run mythfrontend -a help
to see the options.
