If the HVR-1100 driver is not built into the kernel you'll need to find 
a driver (if it exists). Try linuxtv.org. Are you sure the HVR-1600 uses 
the same chipset as the HVR-1600? Have you tried: 'sudo lspci -vvv' to 
see if you get any useful info about the card? Maybe the HVR-1110 
firmware will work:

throwing out some ideas.
