LoL...

Probably because we are one of the few places with broadcast H.264  
video.

One of the issues VDPAU needs to deal with is the very small blips you  
get in broadcast video. Some of the STBs seem to deal with these quite  
well, and others have major picture issues. Appears that the MPlayer  
VDPAU implementation is that touch better at dealing with this small  
reception blips.
