Yes thats right, if it can play them via at least one method we know
it is not a problem with the codec/format. And DVB-S stuff is well
within the PCH's capabilities. The problem must be in the delivery
method!

does t'other device access the samba share with the same username as
the PCH does? Also is one connecting via smbfs and the other by cifs?
There are differences in terms of permissions.

Is it possible to access the PCH via ssh or telnet and dig around a bit?

There has been talk for some time about porting the mythfrontend used
on the MVPMC (?) to the PCH, but I haven't seen the code, merely get
referred to a forum where someone said they were looking at doing it.
