I recently had problems with audio stutter.  This went away when I 
regressed from the testing to release version of Jeans mythtv.

I have a feeling that VDPAU isn't as tolerant to corrupt streams caused 
by interference or low signal strength

I've now also got a 96 Element UHF beast.  My signal strength rocketed 
from 51 to 80%. 
Hopefully things maybe looking up.
