It's a curly one. XFCE (by default IIRC) will save the running programs when
you log out or shut down. So when you get two front ends running, one starts
as part of this restore, and one starts as part of the usual startup
process.

The way I fixed it was to manually exit the frontend, shut down the computer
and de-select the 'save this session' (or similair option). IIRC, this was
with Mythbuntu 8.10.
