[mythtvnz] X works, but Myth does not.

This will depend on what distribution/desktop environment
you are using, but have a look at settings -> display
settings or equivalent on your desktop and see what its set
to. I set mine(mythbuntu 8.04) to default, which tells it to
look at xorg.conf.
Set modes in xorg.conf to
Modes    "1360x768" #"1024x768" "800x600"
which should force it to 1360x768.

Are you using the fglrx drivers?
