If USB DVB devices work then this looks like a good, cheap way to try Myth
out. The main problem is the lack of disk, but that can be solved with an
external drive.

My inclination though is to go for the cheap desktop/tower option for the
> back end, plus a UPS.


That's a lot more money than just buying a USB DVB device though. Better IMO
to do as much as you can with existing hardware first.
