Not necessary unless you are planning to record several things at once. USB2
is likely to be more than quick enough for a single recording. The existence
of USB capture cards clearly shows that USB must be fast enough for realtime
capture.

Video at the bitrates we're using is simply not that bandwidth intensive.

Now, if you're using a USB capture card it is possible that you might lose
performance if you're using a USB HD at the same time. You might want to at
least test this in advance if you can.

Yes, unless the CPU is woefully underpowered (less than 1GHz say). Again
what we're doing is not that taxing.
