[mythtvnz] irblasting and sky box

Hi Guys,

I'm running mythbuntu and after 6 days (this is my second attempt in 3  
months) of trying to get it figured out i'm finally getting the IR to  
work.

It doesnt change channels unfortunately - the blips seem too fast.
I really really wish i could get this sorted.

Another unrelated issue is my lirc seems to fail sometimes and i get  
no response (this has been after trying all sorts of fixes - default  
mythbuntu settings work fine)

please can somebody help me.
pulling my hair out.

using mce remote (the new one) and a microsoft usb ir blaster.
sky decoder is DTH335-4 motorola sky nz.

When i was running mediaportal the zenith codes seemed to work.
