Are you using a debian or ubuntu based system=3F It's much easier using
modules assistant=2E

sudo apt-get install module-assistant
sudo m-a

Then choose to build lirc modules=2E The configuration process is guided a=
nd
you end up with a =2Edeb installed containing the kernel modules=2E

There are literally dozens of howtos for setting up skystar2 cards=2E Goog=

I am using an serial receiver, this what i did:

1) Downloaded the necessary files for lirc and i ran setup but i dint=20
able to make and make install it gives me an output "make: *** No=20
targets=2E  Stop=2E"

2) I somehow managed to modprobe it and when i ran irw there is no=20
output and says connection refused=2E

I am lost now=2E How do i do from scratch=2E Thanks=2E
