Efficient and linear multi-channel sat comm amplification

Nick Butler

Imagine the possibilities if aircraft had broadband instead of
dial-up. Immediate, practical possibilities include reducing the
amount of radio equipment onboard and antennae outboard. What about
the effect on running an airline or managing airspace? Now imagine the
challenges of delivering that broadband. This was the subject of a
research project undertaken by a consortium of industrial and academia
partners, funded by the Aerospace Growth Partnership. In this talk,
Nick will discuss some of the challenges airborne sat-comm systems
face from the power amplifier's point of view.

This event is free of charge and open to all, with refreshments at 19.00, lecture
at 19:30.
