Ultra Wide Band Surveillance Radar

Danny Cranmer, Thales

Thales Research and Technology have developed an Ultra Wide Band Radar
using their previously presented work on Frequency Hopped Ultra Wide
Band technology. Ultra Wide Band operates at a very low power and has
been developed to detect movement: moving targets can be tracked up to
100 m in open-area surveillance and up to30 m through concrete walls.
Danny has helped apply the radar in various use-case demonstration
scenarios, including area surveillance, border patrol stowaway
detection, mobile reactive surveillance, police and special forces. In
this session Danny will cover the technical development of the radar,
current applications and possible future developments.

This event is free of charge and open to all, with refreshments at 19.00.
