Raspberry Pi: Opportunities and Challenges

Robert Mullins, Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge and the
Raspberry Pi Foundation

The Raspberry Pi is a small, low-cost, low-power and relatively
powerful computer. It was designed with the hope of encouraging
children to experiment and discover more about computing.

Our ultimate goal is to help both inspire the next generation of
computer scientists and raise the general understanding of the
science. Hundreds of thousands of machines have now been shipped to a
broad range of users worldwide.

In this talk I will describe some of things that I have learnt during
the past year in particular and the opportunities and challenges that
remain if we are to meet our original goals.

This event is free of charge and open to all, with refreshments at
19.00.
