The objective of this lecture is to give users a good feel for what can be
achieved by using a reprogrammable switched capacitor Field Programmable
Analogue Array(FPAA). The basic theory of switched capacitor circuits
will be covered, but the lecture will focus on the technical aspects of a
device - its internal architecture, how to interface to it and how to use
it to advantage. To this end, the lecture will demonstrate how software
enables users to design analogue circuitry simply and quickly, and how
intelligent design of the background hardware in an FPAA chip allows users
to take their analogue designs one step further and make them dynamically
reprogrammable. A number of demonstrations will illustrate the simplicity
and power of this technique. If you want to know more, come along.
