Synopsis

Imagine a world where you can go to a live event without leaving your
house. In this world you could mix with people attending the event in
person, or like you, through a virtual persona. Perhaps some of the people
you meet are not real but simply embodiments of artificial intelligence.
The component technology to support Internet based mixed reality is well
developed putting research in the area into the integration phase. This
lecture introduces the concept of mixed reality spaces cohabited by humans
and artificial life, discussing problems and solutions learned through a
number of research projects.

If you want to know more, come along. Everyone is welcome and no ticket is
required. Simply turn up on the night.

Directions:
Enter Whiteknights Campus via the Pepper Lane entrance, turn right at the
roundabout, pass Cybernetics and park in the car park on the left. The
lecture will be held in building numbered 33 on the map at
http://www.reading.ac.uk/Maps/whiteknights_-_central.html

Best wishes,
