Synopsis
Bluetooth has been developed as a solution to the final link in most
portable equipment - getting rid of the cable by means of a low power
wireless link. The first products have started to appear on the market,
providing simple cable replacement, but the ability to provide wireless
connectivity opens up the possibility of distributing functionality and
rethinking product design.

An overview of how Bluetooth works, along with future Bluetooth
extensions, lets us examine how Bluetooth may change the way portable
equipment is designed, and see where convergence may happen within
telecomms, computing and consumer electronics.

If you want to know more, come along. Everyone is welcome and no ticket is
required. Simply turn up on the night.
