Monday 21st March        Anthony Meats

 

We are sad to record the death of Anthony Meats, a long time contributor to
Taplow life.

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving at St Nicolas' Church on Monday 21st
March, at midday (see attached information) Contact olliemeats at sky.com

Monday 28th March        Easter Egg Hunt

 

Easter is approaching and there are a few places left for the Easter Egg
Hunt. See the attached notice for details.

 

Sunday 17th April           Clean for the Queen

In preparation for The Queen’s 90th Birthday, The Society and Taplow Parish
Council are organising a clean-up day on Sunday 17 April. We’ll be targeting
road verges, green spaces and local grot spots across the parish to make it
‘Fit for the Queen!’ 

Join us in your old clothes at the Village Hall anytime on Sunday 17 April
between 10.30am & 2.30pm to collect bin bags and safety equipment. You can
then join a team or target your local area. If you want advice, guidance or
equipment ahead of the event please contact Zoe Hatch on 07974 457925. All
welcome, especially families.

Afterwards, we'll be celebrating with an informal picnic on the Village
Green. There will be cake!

Thursday 21st April          Beacon Lighting

 

In celebration of the 90th birthday of the Queen, The Parish Council is
funding a beacon lighting on Taeppa’s Mound in the evening. Flyer attached–
a torchlight procession from the Green to the Mound, beacon lighting and
then fireworks. Do join us to celebrate a truly great occasion.

Monday 2nd May              Race to the Church

 

Entry Forms attached.

Your faithful [Race to the Church, not HTS] committee has been working
tirelessly to jump through all legal and regulatory hoops to ensure that we
can close the High Street on May 2nd bank holiday. We are still waiting for
official confirmation. Given that we have ticked all the boxes we are hoping
for an official yes soon.

In the meantime, and because people need to get on with building their karts
– please find attached the official rules and regulations as well as the all
important legal disclaimers. 

Cost is £30 family entry per kart – which allows everyone in the family a
chance to race. Karts must have a wooden chassis, 4 wheels, (one at each
corner) and  not cost more than £50 in purchased materials.

Limited to 30 karts in total – first come first saved. PLEASE NOTE AN ENTRY
FORM IS ONLY VALID IF IT IS POSTED WITH CORRECT MONEY TO MULBERRY HOUSE,
HIGH STREET AND HAS SIGNED DISCLAIMERS FOR EACH DRIVER

(Please note: that in the event that the council does not give us permission
to race on May 2nd – we will hopefully agree a later date with the council –
and entries will be moved to the later date – but anyone not able or willing
to take part on the later date will be given a full refund.)
