South Bucks District Council yesterday approved the full set of Berkeley
Homes applications for the development of the Mill Lane site.

This includes the provision of a roundabout access to the A4 rather than the
traffic lights. We will lose the horse chestnut trees unfortunately but the
developers are to plant mature trees around the new entrance as soon as
practical.

The gas holder is agreed to come down and although the application to
develop this part of the site is still not submitted, there is confidence
that it will stay within the outline submitted earlier for a maximum of 12
houses.

The traffic lights at Berry Hill will be made "more intelligent"? and the
road designs include the proposed cycleway and provision for the car
transporters that presently unload on the A4 to move round the back of the
VW garage.

A public toilet will be provided on the site and the sensitive woodland to
the north of Dunloe Lodge will be protected.

There are conditions attached as to detailed management, including controls
on construction work.

We will unfortunately lose the willow tree in front of the present Skindles.

Construction is likely to start immediately - demolishing of Skindles and
the new roundabout.
