Dear All
You will see from the copy mail below that there was a substantial turnout of residents yesterday at a protest mtg to save the trees.
The Maidenhead Advertiser will run the story this week with photos. Am also informed that Watts & Co, tree surgeons who carry out all the heavy work on the Cliveden Estate, have been asked for a 2nd opinion on the health of the trees in question. Their view is that they are mostly in good condition with plenty of life years ahead of them, only requiring some cosmetic work. E.g. Removing ivy and a few dead branches, and should be TPO'd.
In view of these facts believe it would be a wise move for SBDC to ensure, at the very least, that there is a stay of execution. It will certainly not reflect well upon this Council if the trees are felled before news of the protest is published in the media this week.
Yours
George

Dear George,
Thank you for your email. We had a good gathering this morning - I would guess around 50 including Eva Lipman. Maidenhead Advertiser photographer took some good pics so hopefully this will help our cause.
Many thanks for your continued support.
All the best
Rupert

Dear Rupert
So sorry, that I was unable to attend your coffee morning gathering today, as I had a previous arrangement. Am sure you will have had a good turn-out.
I'd meant to respond earlier to your kind invitation, please forgive me for not doing so.
As you know I'm 100% behind the endeavours of your residents in this campaign to save the trees and hope we win the fight.
Yours sincerely
George

Dear George,
We are very grateful for your considerable support to help preserve the trees in Ellington Gardens. Below is a simple invitation which I have asked Martin Maude to email to the EDRA residents and I have asked Fred Russell to email to the Taplow and Hitcham Society.
If you are available this Saturday morning it would be great if you can join us - we are hoping to pull a decent crowd and it looks like the weather at least will be on our side! The Maidenhead Advertiser are keen to run another story and are hoping to send out a photographer for this gathering. If timing doesn't work for them, they may still use the photo that I will be taking.
Best wishes
Rupert

From the residents of Ellington Gardens:
Please join us for coffee and biscuits at 11am on Saturday 25th January
As part of our campaign to save the trees in Ellington Gardens from removal, we would like to invite you to join us for coffee and biscuits in Ellington Gardens. We hope to draw a good crowd and this will be outside on the gravel drive - the weather forecast is good for Saturday morning!
This is to say a big thank you to everyone for their support and we will use this opportunity to take a group photo, which the local press has expressed interest in to help our cause.
It would be great if as many of you as possible could come along and be part of the photo.
We look forward to seeing you!
