FYI ... announcement from Bucks County Council

National Grid Gas are about to embark on a major gas mains replacement job
on the Bath Road in Taplow. The need for this replacement is due to low gas
pressure and a deterioration in the condition of the metallic main that will
result increased gas leaks. This work would have happened earlier in the
year but access was denied due to the Olympics, hence the urgency now. The
works will be from Maidenhead bridge to the entrance where the car boot sale
is held. The work is expected to commence mid October and be completed by
March 2013. Meetings have taken place with N.G.G and Windsor and Maidenhead
council to discuss how the work is to be executed in a way that will
minimise disruption to local residents and travelling members of the public.
