That's great Don. It was an excellent chance for some of our local
programmer community to hear some challenging thoughts, to make the FSF
message more familiar. The Canterbury event has been by far the largest
and most successful for this tour so far, said RMS, helping colour
Christchurch with uniquely strong GNU identity - a valuable point of
difference, and related to the electronics specialisation and other
characteristics here perhaps.

"Where to now?" has to be Software Freedom Day 8, 20th September, it
seems. We have public momentum around that event, and although RMS does
not support it (distro-wise), he does allow that SFD usefully
"introduces people to the concept of Freedom" at least. More later re
SFD organisation.

Cheers, Rik

P.S. viz my replying to this list only, and the threaded debate on CLUG list, it has been the case that some subscribers took offence to GNU subject matter there; hence the GNUz list was set up to spare us all the flame-wars. Seems to have worked, and a constructive complementarity of roles has resulted. But feel free to suggest any further changes.
