Well there are fixes posted right under the article in the enquirer. But
yes, i won't be buying one.

HP make major contributions to linux with their hplip driver and userspace
programs. hplip seems to be included in most distros these days. So look
at the compatibility charts at http://hplip.sf.net/  and see what takes
your fancy.
