It's impossible to estimate demand for SFD, but every bit of prep always 
helps.

I hope not. We only want to give them something that's going to be used. 
(You cite my thoughts on the 'mall giveaway' approach, to which our 
selective draw is counterposed.) The Ubuntu CD has OpenCD on it too, so 
at least they can get FOSS for Windows off that.

I'd like us to be careful about confusing newcomers with too much 
(distro) choice please. Given the complete lack of interest in SFD from 
CLUG, it seems we should be steering people towards Freenix workshop for 
support with Ubuntu in hand. This will make the Day & effort worthwhile, 
imho. Continuity is important.

We have the bigscreen / projector planned for that, but good demo gear 
is needed. There's room for several - so go for it mate.
