How do you propose that Telecon could trace a hard drive?

It may somehow be possible to trace a network card, if it is plugged
into telecom's network in such a way as to reveal its MAC address to the
world. However most aren't, as the typical briadband user has a firewall
or router between the PC and Telecom.
