Same on Mozilla (says he who managed to lock Gnome up via Firefox ssl,
delaying work) - all empty.

Does this say something about commercial ventures & LUGs? Development
has dropped off since VLE started, by the look of things. They had an
Installfest last December though.

Changing tack; when last night I got the sysad message that ..

"Your mail to 'GNUz' with the subject

Re: [GNUz] Fwd: Academics Discuss MS vs. OSS
Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.
The reason it is being held:
Message body is too big: 321304 bytes but there's a limit of 40 KB
Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision."

.. I expected the jpeg not to get through. Fair enough; I would have put it on the CLUG wiki, & posted to main List its whereabouts. Because the (VLE-doctored) pic is such a great window on the US, it seems to me.

But the major question remains to be decided on GNUz list, re attachments policy. Ralph's had CLUG's policy explained there, but what is ours?

Perhaps the fairest guide would be a straight out vote - yes or no to attachments - with Jim (sysad) retaining the casting vote. GNUz is a small list, & capable of self monitoring, I believe. But it's your Inbox, so if there's a strong feeling either way, we'd best hear it soon. I'm neutral about it, but recognise that without a designated wiki, our options are more limited than CLUG's are.

The general rule probably best applies here too; that if you can provide a link instead of an attachment, it is best to do so - respecting other people's bandwidth & disk space.

So thanks Jim, for being so liberal as gnuz-admin. It is not expected.

Cheers, Rik
