It's definitely a "GNU Mach" (micro)kernel package that Debian has
supplied (says its boot titling; /boot/gnumach.gz). This has given me
the impression that I can continue to build a Gnu system up, from that
starting point, within my Debian/Grub partition (convenient) or
wherever. Download & unpack a full Gnu(-hurd) filesystem? Onto a
separate partition seems safest. Move gnumach.gz over there to boot the
Gnu stuff, redirect Grub, reboot.. - a novice view.
Boot message a bit more precisely:
'Kernel panic: there is no code to bootstrap with the kernel'
I seem to be missing the second - "Hurd" - part that comes next.
Reading thru Phil's site now: http://www.copyleft.co.nz/hurd.html
Looking good Phil. Is that a specialist role you are filling with GnuP
'CD images are produced here for the intntl GNU Hurd project', or do
others do this too?
Ah,.. no 'English' button for http://www.gnuab.org/
Starting to get a picture.
Cheers, Rik
P.S. Evolution just crashed again but recovered this message. Might see
how xemacs mail & browser works. Sounds different. Downloading now.
