Just been digging down the rabbit-hole, initially excavated by Charles 
Manning.

Looks like logisim is being developed by https://github.com/reds-heig - 
a Swiss technical school.

Their github links to the master root for the project; apparently 
binaries for winux, and lindowns are available. This should speed up the 
execution time vs the JAR implementation.

Documentation appears to be available and it's time to start reading; 
unit looks quite useful. Found the VHDL button, still searching for 
VERILOG :)

PS got the JAR sim running bad-apple without any problem, but only had 
lo-res graphics. Maybe I chose the wrong RISC-V implementation...
