"Legit" is quite a vague term if the real question is about quality... a
range of manufacturers are making this format of Li-Ion battery, and
they are not all born equal. Criteria to look at:
- Capacity: they all have nominally the same dimensions but not the same
capacity
- ESR, i.e., how much current do they deliver under which load
- Capacity under different load conditions
- Size differences (as in diameter and length)
- Cycle life, and this is a real quality point where batteries from
different manufacturers may perform very very differently
- Saftey, i.e., do they have protection electronics built-in, and also
have their been incidents with the specific make & model you are looking
at (think Galaxy S7...)
- anything else that matters to you?
Here is an older comparison with measurements of 18650, but it gives you
an idea of the spread of some of the above parameters that may matter to
you.
