Thanks for your thoughts Volker.
I for one would be very happy to move from the single page, hand crafted
HTML 0.8 page I threw together using edlin, but we do need to consider
appearance-to-the-newcomer, longevity, and maintenance.
If we can find a free, long term stable (how do we do that ?) server,
with open source maintenance tools, a fancier site may be an option.
While the current mail server is currently quite adequate and stable, I
do think a more appropriate response to offers of help is 'thank you,
will give you a call if we need help'.

This list has been running on mailman for a very long time. The server
is operated by someone with a very long history of doing this and has
been very stable. My personal opinion is that there is absolutely no
reason to change the mailing list setup we currently have, especially
given that the track record with enthusiasm in doing this kind of thing
is that it only lasts 2 weeks.
There doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest in having a web site
either. People can find things elsewhere on the Internet already so it's
not worth re-creating it. Or whatever reasons are at play...
