I need to cover the same ground. My bluetooth serial module arrived
from DealExtreme a while ago, but I misplaced my USB/Bluetooth dongle.
The replacement arrived yesterday and I got the linux bit working with
the serial port driver last night.
Using ubuntu 10.04:
lsusb showed me the Cambridge Silicon Radio bluetooth dongle registered.
hcitool dev showed the device number
I created the /dev/rfcomm0 using command that I've forgotten.
I'll let you know in the unlikely event that I get mine working first...
There seem to be quite a number of likely looking datasheets around,
presumably for different firmware. Jimmy had his device working under
windows, so I Jimmy did you use the power on defaults, or some
commands to give you the baud rate etc that you wanted?
